About This Module

In this module, students will apply their understanding of regression and residuals to other function families. Students will engage in activities that allow them to collect and analyze data, determine a model of best fit, and evaluate the reasonableness of the model selected. Students will justify their models using residuals and their knowledge of key behaviors of the function family.

Prior to this module, make sure students have a strong understanding of linear, quadratic and simple exponential functions and regression with these functions.  Students will need to understand how to find and analyze the correlation coefficient (if applying a linear model) and residuals.  If students need additional support or review with any of these topics, have them complete Module 1: Linear, Quadratic and Exponential Regression.
