• The purpose was to summarize how peoples' lives and daily routines are affected by extreme weather events. It also evaluates how people prepare when extreme weather events are predicted.
• This survey was completed by telephone surveys to residents of southern Maryland. While the survey produces a representative sample of southern Maryland, the survey sample results are biased and the sample lacks randomization of the population. People without telephones are left out of the survey. People who feel strongly about the weather and climate in their area tend to participate in such surveys, thus causing the data to be skewed.
