Khalid:  Wow, looks like I need to study literature, geography and science a little more.

Image description: Khalid points to the table of his results:
In the history category, he had 12 correct responses and 3 incorrect responses out of a total of 15 questions.
In the literature category, he had 10 correct responses and 4 incorrect responses out of a total of 14 questions.
In the math category, he had 14 correct responses and 0 incorrect responses out of a total of 14 questions.
In the science category, he had 9 correct responses and 3 incorrect responses out of a total of 12 questions.
In the art category, he had 8 correct responses and 2 incorrect responses out of a total of 10 questions.
In the geography category, he had 11 correct responses and 4 incorrect responses out of a total of 15 questions.
In all categories, he had a total of 64 correct responses and 16 incorrect responses out of 80 total questions.

Marissa: You still have plenty of time before the tournament.

Khalid:  Do you think 80% is good enough or should I study history and art too?

Marissa: Well, how many history questions do they typically ask?

Khalid: In the It’s Academic Tournament, they typically ask an average of 8 history questions.

Marissa: When I was asking you questions, I asked 15 History questions.  You answered 12 of the 15 History questions correctly, which means you answered 80% of the History questions that I asked correctly. If a typical It's Academic tournament includes 8 History questions, then based on the fact that you answered 80% of the practice History questions correctly, we could predict that you would answer 80% of the 8 History questions in a typical It's Academic tournament correctly.  Since 80% of 8 is 6.4, we could predict that you would answer 6 of the History questions correctly.

Image description: As Marissa speaks, 12 divided by 15 equals 80 percent, and “80% of 8 is 6.4” appears on the screen.

Khalid:  But what would be my chances of answering all 8 history questions correctly?

Marissa:  That’s a different question.  I’m not sure.
