Justyce: There is another method for describing the variability of data. It is called the standard deviation. Just like the mean absolute deviation, the standard deviation is a value that describes the variation of a data set. In other words, it is a number that describes how far the data points are from the mean. A high standard deviation means the data values are very far apart. A low standard deviation means the data values are close together.
